Phoenix, AZ (Sports Network) - The Arizona Diamondbacks have reportedly rewarded manager Kirk Gibson and general manager Kevin Towers for leading the franchise to an NL West title this past season. According to the Arizona Republic, Gibson and Towers have each received new three-year contracts with club options for two years that could keep both with the Diamondbacks through the 2016 season. Phoenix, AZ (Sports Network) - The Arizona Diamondbacks agreed to terms with catcher Henry Blanco on a one-year deal with a mutual option Thursday. Blanco, 40, batted .250 with eight home runs and 12 RBI in 37 games last season. Also, he threw out eight of 21 attempted basestealers. Since breaking into the majors in 1997, he has played in 900 games and has batted .228 with 68 home runs and 277 RBI with nine different teams. He has caught 40.8 percent of attempted basestealers (237-of-581).

McDonald appeared in 19 games for Arizona last season and hit .169 with two doubles and two RBI. A 13-year veteran, McDonald has a .238 career batting average with 93 doubles, 21 home runs and 179 RBI through 884 games with Cleveland, Toronto, Detroit and Arizona.
